About Vancouver
Vancouver is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is ideally situated, on the Pacific coast, in the province of British Columbia. It has scenic, snow-capped mountains, sandy beaches, beautiful parks, and the warmest climate in Canada. There are elegant, modern buildings alongside beautifully preserved heritage architecture. There are so many places to visit and things to do: theatres and
cinemas, ballet and opera performances, art galleries and fashionable boutiques, all within easy walking distance of each other in the downtown core.
Living in Vancouver, you will find that there is never a dull moment. There is something for young and old alike. The night life is fantastic! There are many clubs where you can dance the night away after dining at your favorite restaurant. The cuisine is delectable and diverse. You can bike, rollerblade, jog or walk in Stanley Park along the seawall or take a picnic lunch, have a casual stroll and see the fantastic flowers and view at Queen Elizabeth Park. These are only two of Vancouver's many large and beautiful parks.
Being a multi-cultural city, people come together all year round to celebrate the arts, the environment, and cultures of the many different ethnic groups. Many music festivals are held outdoors during the warm summer months and viewers often join in the fun of singing and dancing.
Because of its perfect location, Vancouver offers a very wide range of sporting activities for its visitors and residents. At certain times of the year, you can ski in the morning on mountain slopes, have a swim in the ocean before lunch and even play a game of golf or tennis before the evening sets in. While kayaking, cycling and jogging can be part of your everyday life, mountain-climbing, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are only a short bus ride away. Whistler Ski Resort, internationally well known, is only a few hours away and many people enjoy the exciting night life after having fun
on the slopes during the day or simply relax and enjoy a sauna and swim before hitting the slopes again.
This beautiful city has many accessible indoor activities including; gyms, swimming pools and yoga studios. Whatever the choice of activity, you will find a fun and friendly group to join and share in similar interests with you.
The fantastic scenery can be seen from almost every window in this attractive, fabulous city, but that is not the only reason to choose Vancouver for your study plans. The Vancouver Library and art gallery are located nearby. The city is also full of the kindest, thoughtful, friendliest and most helpful people you'll meet anywhere in the world.
