| Academic, Business & Technical English Preparation
(ABTEP) |
| General Information |
| ABTEP is an intensive English program to prepare non-native English-speaking
students to successfully pursue academic, business or technical post-secondary
studies. |
| There are six modules, from beginner to upper advanced, to be completed
in ABTEP. Students who successfully complete the sixth module and
meet other graduation requirements receive a certificate of graduation
from the ABTEP program. |
| This powerful and effective program will help ESL students to succeed
in any post-secondary program, regardless of their choice. Upon successful
completion of the course, the students will be able to |
- Prepare for college and university level courses
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Have a sound knowledge of Academic, Business, or Technical
English

| Admission Requirements |
Before enrolling in the ABTEP program, each student must complete
an internal entry assessment administered by VIBT. Based on the assessment
result, students will be placed in an appropriate level to begin their
studies in the program.

| Program Length |
| The ABTEP program has a maximum of 6 modules requiring full-time
studies. Students can start with the first module or the sixth module,
depending on their placement in the program. Each module is 8 weeks
in length. |
| Students are in class 25 hours a week. |

| Registration Fee: $100.00 (non-refundable)
Tuition Fee (per month): $600.00 (Canadian / Permanent Resident
Students)
